Are you covered under RASP (Registry of Autism Service Providers)?

Yes! We are certified within the RASP network. Parents can use the funding they receive from MCFD’s Autism Funding: Under Age Six Program to pay for services at Spark Therapy Group.


How much does Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology (SLP) and Behaviour Consulting cost?

The cost of service is based on the standard fees which have been determined by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.

1. Professional time, including preparation, assessment, treatment, verbal and written consultation and reporting is charged at standard rates.
2. Travel time is billed at half the professional hourly rate with mileage charged separately ($0.69/km).
3. Rural Travel may be negotiated differently for travel/mileage charges.
4. Flat fees may be negotiated between the therapist and client/fee payer and these vary considerably depending on the service; flat fees are established using expected hours and hourly rate charges. Please contact Spark for further details.


How do I pay for my session?

Payment of fees is due upon receipt of the invoice, which will be issued at each session. Where services are covered by supplementary insurance, clients are required to pay directly and then submit invoices to the insurance company for reimbursement.

Methods of Payment include cash, debit, VISA, or Mastercard.


Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes, if a client “No Shows” for a session, the full session amount will be charged. Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the appointment will be charged 100% of the session fee. A late arrival to a session is billed for the full session.

Clients are permitted a maximum of 5 cancellations per year due to illness if within the 24 hour cancellation period, after which full session fees will be charged.


Do you share information with others?

Only with parental or legal guardian consent, can the Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology (SLP) and Behaviour Consulting share clinical findings and written reports with schools and other health care professionals. This is done in order to collaborate and strategize with other team members to further the child’s progress towards goal achievement.


How often does my child need to attend Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology (SLP) and Behaviour Consulting?

Treatment frequency can vary from attending an assessment only to weekly treatment sessions. Treatment frequency is based on each child’s individual needs, goals for intervention, and other community resources and therapies involved.
